Maria Piwowarska

Maria Piwowarska, 80, of New Britain, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017.

Born in Poland, she resided in New Britain for many years, where she raised her family and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She worked as an electrical assembler for Dana Limited in Bristol, where she retired after many years. Maria was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who was happiest when surrounded by her family.

She will be dearly missed by her sons: Jacek Piwowarski and his wife Teresa of Newington, Zdizislaw Piwowarski and his wife Barbara of Farmington; her grandchildren: Robert Piwowarski, Anna O’Connell and her husband Derek, all of Newington, and Joanna Szulewski and her husband Joseph of New Jersey and their children; her sister, Alina Jagielski and Henryk of New Britain; her nephew, Robert Jagielski and his wife Magda and their daughter Olivia of Bristol; and nieces in Poland.

Maria’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Eugene M. Ciccone and the staff at the Hospital of Central Connecticut for all of their compassionate care.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Maria on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in New Britain. She will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery immediately following the Mass. To share a memory with her family, please visit us at .
