Edward Lipinski, 75, of New Britain passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Irena (Powojski) Lipinski for 50 years. Born in Poland, son of the late Zygmunt and Wanda (Guminski) Lipinski, he came to the United States in 1974 and lived in New Britain and was a machinist at Textron for 33 years. In 2004 he and Irena moved to Fountain Hills, Ariz. He spent 13 years in Arizona, before coming back to New Britain. Edward enjoyed fishing, gardening and boating on the Long Island Sound. He also enjoyed trips to the casino, mushroom picking in the woods of Arizona, and camping. Edward was a jokester who could always make you laugh. Above all he loved his family and grandchildren and getting together for holiday gatherings.
Along with his wife, he leaves his four children, Zbigniew Lipinski, Darius Lipinski and his wife, Maria, Christopher Lipinski and his wife, Rose, and Agnes Lipinski, and his four adored grandchildren, Joseph, Ryan, Isabella and Andrew. He also leaves his two brothers, Miroslaw and Marek Lipinski, his sister, Elzbieta Trzcinka, and several nieces and nephews, here and in Poland. He was predeceased by his sister, Teresa Cymek and his infant brother, Andrzej Lipinski.
His funeral service will begin Saturday, Dec. 23, at 8:30 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, New Britain. He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, Dec. 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
