Gary D. Masse, 60, of Plainville passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at his home.

Gary was born June 12, 1957, in Hartford a son of the late Herman and Yvonne (Violette) Masse and was a lifelong Plainville resident. He attended E.C. Goodwin Technical High School in New Britain and was a graduate of Plainville High School. He was the Co-owner of H & N Construction of Plainville for many years. Gary was a member of the Knights of Columbus, was an avid bowler and pool player, having been a member of several leagues. He was also a Communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church.

Gary leaves his brothers, Melvin Masse and his wife, Anne-Marie, of Florida and James Masse and his wife, Joyce, of Plainville; his nieces and nephews, Dwayne, Heather, Robin, Michael and Scott and many grand nieces and nephews whom he loved unconditionally. He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel, his sister, Marie, and his life partner, Lynn M. Swiridowsky.

A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Gary’s life will be held Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St. in Plainville. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Plainville. Family and friends may gather at the church Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
