Margaret Melillo

Margaret Melillo, 97, of New Britain, passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut at New Britain General. Margaret was born in New Britain and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Cucalluto) Tucciaroni. She was creative and talented and loved watching old movies, making crafts, going to the casino and playing the piano.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Maria Caputo and her husband John of Waterbury; her two grandchildren, Denise Picard and her husband Tom, and Jo-Ann LoRusso and her husband Vinnie Jr.; her six great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kimberly, Kristen, Joelle, John and James; and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Frank J. Melillo, and her companion of 46 years, Allan Halpern; her brother Angelo Tucciaroni; and her five sisters, Mary Russo, Palma Sarra, Carmella Georgeio, Florence Delldonna and Catherine Izzi. The Melillo family extends a thank you to Liberty Health Care and the Hospital of Central Connecticut for Margaret’s wonderful care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Liturgy of Christian Burial Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, 101 North St., New Britain. Everyone is kindly requested to go directly to church on Wednesday morning. Burial will be private in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. There are no calling hours.
