Kenneth J. “Wheels” Wheeler, 72, of Meriden, husband of Lynn (Curley) Wheeler, passed away Feb. 1, 2018, at Hartford Hospital.
He was born in New Britain on Dec. 21, 1945, a son of the late Frederick and Helen (Simeone) Wheeler.
Ken worked for the North Haven public schools as a high school teacher and then as an insurance adjuster for Eastland Claim Service until retiring.
Ken was a member of the Middletown Elks Lodge. He enjoyed traveling and riding his Harley Davidson.
In addition to his wife, Lynn, he is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Wheeler and her fiancé, Sean Higgins, of Uncasville, Sandra L. Kelsey of Avon, and Lynne Arnold and her husband, Dale, of Wallingford; his brother, Frederick Wheeler and his wife, Sharon Kesten; his sister-in-law, Maureen Garza and her husband, Jerry; his brother-in-law, Joseph Curley; his grandchildren, Devin, Brian, and Nicholas Kelsey, Dale and Elizabeth Arnold, and Jayden Higgins; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Sharon Wheeler.
His family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
