Lawrence Edward Brauer

Lawrence Edward Brauer, 77, of New Britain passed away on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at Autumn Lake Health Care in Cromwell. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Otto and Ruth (Dahlgren) Brauer.

Larry lived most of his life in Cromwell and East Berlin moving to New Britain in 2002. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Larry loved animals; he loved raising livestock especially pigs on the Brauer Family Farm. Larry was also an avid gardener and farmer and enjoyed working with wood splitting with his chain saw and running various farming equipment.

Larry is survived by three brothers, Robert O. Brauer and his wife, Lucille, of Cromwell, Daniel A. Brauer of Kensington, and Michael A. Brauer and his wife, Caroline, of Napa, Calif.; a sister, Sharon R. Varga of Palmetto, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Larry was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Brauer.

Burial will be held in the spring in Kelsey Cemetery in Cromwell. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit .
