Mark Slysz

Mark Slysz, 63, of New Britain, son of the late William and Jean (Pijanowski) Slysz, passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. A lifelong New Britain resident, Mark attended Oak Hill School for the Blind; was a member of Holy Cross Church in New Britain; CCARC in New Britain; was a former Special Olympic Athlete; and was a singer with the ARC Singers. Mark truly enjoyed traveling with his parents, especially his trip to Europe and Italy. Mark’s family wishes to express a special thanks to both the Oakwood Group Home and CCARC in New Britain for their loving care and compassion extended to Mark over the years.

Surviving is his sister, Marcia Wingard and her husband, Greg, of Old Lyme; six nieces and two nephews, Lisa Mentlick of Durham, Cindy Domonkos of Wethersfield, Susan Webb of Old Lyme, Laura Wilkerson of Columbia, and Dr. Garth Slysz, Gordon Slysz, Raeanne Bekkers, and Remi Christenson. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, William D. Slysz.

A Prayer Service will be held Wednesday 6:40 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Calling hours are Wednesday 5 to 7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home.
