George E. Tillman

George E. Tillman, 89, of Forestville, husband of Lois (Foberg) Tillman, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Born in New Britain, George has been a Forestville resident for the last 53 years. A graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1946, he is an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was a Tool & Die maker for Stanley Works for over 40 years, retiring when he was 62. George was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Bristol. He had a love for cars as a hobby and was a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club as well as, the Roaring 20s Classic Car Club.

Besides his wife Lois, he leaves two sons, Glenn Tillman and his wife Wendy of Bristol, and Neil Tillman and his wife Nicole, also of Bristol; two daughters, Lisa Tillman with David Pierson of Whitehall, Pa., and Alison Carothers and her husband Troy, of Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren, Jeremiah, Megan and Hannah Tillman, Victoria, Melanie Carothers and Nicholas Box; and an expected great-grandson; many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by a brother, Arnold Tillman and a sister, Elsa Bullock Tillman.

Funeral services are Friday 11 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 355 Camp Street, Bristol, CT 06010. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours are Friday morning at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu flowers, donations may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
