Helen (Parda) Simcik

Helen (Parda) Simcik, 97, widow of Anthony Simcik Sr. of Kensington, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, May 3, 2018. She was born in New Britain, and was daughter of the late Stanley and Bronislawa (Bertha) Dabkowski. She was a graduate of E.C. Goodwin Regional Vocational Technical School, LPN Program- where she proudly found her passion for nursing. She was employed by HOCC at New Britain General and later was welcomed at Monsignor Bojnowski Manor.

In her earlier years, Helen was very active with the New Britain Council of Catholic Women and St. Paul's Ladies Guild. She was a proud mom of an Eagle Scout and volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She greatly enjoyed gardening and spending time with family, especially during any holiday. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her two sons, Anthony J. Simcik Jr. and his wife Susan of Newington, and Peter A. Simcik and his wife Maggie of Berlin. Her sweet grandchildren, Amy Cook and her husband Cavin of Va., and Christopher Simcik of New Milford, Conn., and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by an infant daughter, Eleanor Simcik, a brother Joseph Parda and three sisters, Sophie Simcik, Genevieve Parda and Veronica Molnar.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life with a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 7, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Parish, 485 Alling St., Kensington. Private burial services will follow. In lieu of flowers, Helen expressly requested donations be made to St. Paul School, 461 Alling St., Kensington, CT 06037.
