Donald L. “Red” Russell, 83, of New Britain, passed away at home on Thursday, May 3, 2018.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Theodore and Viola (Olivier) Russell. Donald was a retiree of the Fafnir Bearing Co., with more than 35 years of service. He was a talented machinist known for his sense of humor and his ability to fix anything. He was also a dedicated daily walker at Westfarms Mall.

Donald is survived by two daughters, Mary Beth Russell of Farmington and Carolyn and her husband, Brian Burrill of Belmont, Mass.; his twin brother, Ronald, and his wife, Jean Russell of Plainville and two nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward Russell.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2018, with a service at 10 a.m. at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square, New Britain. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in New Britain.
