Carroll E. Pottle, age 88, of New Britain, Conn., passed away peacefully on June 4, 2018, at Grandview Rehab in New Britain.
Carroll was born on October 31, 1929, in Perry, Maine, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Wesley (Gladys Johnson) E. Pottle. Carroll married the late Ruth Wilson in the summer of 1950, and later was drafted into the Army during the Korean War in 1951, and served until 1953. He and his wife moved to New Britain, in 1960 with their children. He was a bowling alley mechanic for many years before retiring. Carroll is survived by his sons, Lawrence and his wife, Sandy Pottle of Plainville, Conn., David Pottle of Indiana, and Robert Pottle of Florida, brother, Shirl Pottle and sister, Maruelle Pottle both of Maine, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by three sons, Richard, Leonard and Frank Pottle and one daughter, Vera Pottle.
