Nicholas Hamisevicz, 98, of New Britain, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2018. A life-long resident, he was born to the late Nicholas and Eva Roman (Novick) Hamisevich. Nicholas worked at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft for 43 years, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and the Army Air Force during World War II. He and his late wife, Helen, together earned associate degrees in data processing technology from Waterbury State Technical College in 1975. A charismatic man who spread joy to all with his smile and enthusiasm, he loved music and dancing, especially polka dancing, and was an enthusiastic cheerleader at his grandchildren’s sports and school events. He is survived by his children, Nicholas and his wife, Anne Moran, Nancy and her husband, Michael Weisse and Mary Hamisevicz; his grandchildren, Nicholas Hamisevicz III and his wife, Virginia, Victor Hamisevicz, Gregory Hamisevicz, Matthew Weisse, and Leigh Weisse, and his great-grandson, Nicholas Hamisevicz IV. Nicholas was predeceased by his siblings, Anna Shaw, Mildred Tompkins, Jon Kulikowski, Nina Sasiela, Eugene, Irene Newman, and Eugenia Schierman.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 14, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. directly at the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, 305 Washington St., New Britain, immediately followed by a funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest with military honors in the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Cemetery, New Britain.
