Dorothy Cromer

Dorothy Cromer, 88, of New Britain, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 25, 2018. She was the widow of George A. Cromer. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Cosmo and Mollie (Prestash) Mancini. She was a life-long New Britain resident and was formerly employed as a registered nurse, working at New Britain General Hospital for many years, and as the Assistant Director of Nursing at Farmington Convalescent Home. Dorothy was a fan of all sports and especially enjoyed the NY Giants, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, and UCONN Women's Basketball.

Surviving are four children, George J. Cromer and his wife, Linda of Plainville, John Cromer and his wife, Suzanne of North Carolina, Kathleen Folcik and her husband, John of Southington, and William Cromer of New Britain; seven grandchildren, Carlo Gagliardi, Laura Gagliardi, Krysti Oakes, Jamie Oakes, John Cromer, Erin Mendez, and Nicholas Cromer; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, James Mancini.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Masonicare Hospice, 11 Founders Plaza, Suite 200, East Hartford, CT 06108.
