William E. 'Bill' Flynn

William E. “Bill” Flynn, 61, of Burlington, beloved husband of Marcia A. Wahl-Flynn, passed away June 26, 2018. Bill was born in New London and raised in Groton. He was the son of the late Earl F. and Joyce (Mehnert) Flynn. Bill received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Quinnipiac University. Bill worked as an IT professional at various companies before settling down with General Electric. He retired in March with 27 years of service. Bill was a kind, gentle and giving person who would do anything for anyone. He loved the outdoors, gardening, biking, hiking, golfing and photography. He treasured their home, thoroughly enjoying relaxing with Marcia in this sanctuary. He loved animals, especially his four feline friends. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. However, his greatest joy was his family. Bill was the love of Marcia’s life and always will be. Bill was dedicated to his family and friends and he was a proud uncle and great uncle. To say he will be missed by his family and friends is an understatement. He meant so much to so many people. Bill is survived by his wife of 26 years, Marcia A. Wahl-Flynn of Burlington, his sister, Donna F. St. Louis and her husband, Stephen of Douglas, Mass., his sister-in-law, Virginia P. Wahl of Easthampton, Mass., his niece, Kara Trottier and her husband, Kevin of Douglas, Mass., and their children, Hannah and Taylor, his nephews, Jeffrey St. Louis, and his wife, Tara of Hilliard, Ohio, and their children, Jacob and Mitchell Michael St. Louis and his wife, Shannon of Hope Valley, R.I., and their children, Aidan, Owen and Stella. He was predeceased by his parents and his mother-in-law, Mildred Wahl and father-in-law, Alfred Wahl. Calling hours will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home and Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. A memorial service will follow beginning at 12 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to Mary’s Kitty Korner, P.O. Box 418, Pleasant Valley, CT 06063.
