Jan Wodnicki, 91, of New Britain, died on Saturday, July 21, 2018.

Born in Poland to the late Stanislaw and Maria (Matysiak), he immigrated to the U.S. in 1963. Jan was a crafted tailor who worked for Mags Clothing, Magson Uniforms and later at Winers Clothing. He would also fit and make clothing alterations for friends and family in his home workshop. In his free time, Jan enjoyed fishing and taking trips to the beach with his family. At home, he loved tending to his vegetable garden, fruit trees and berry bushes. A loving, dedicated husband, father and grandfather, he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by Wladyslawa (Sokolowska), his devoted wife and caregiver of 65 years; his son, Christopher and wife Eva; his grandsons: Michael and wife Lauren and Thomas and fiancee Nicole; his precious great-grandchildren: Carter and Tanner; his step-granddaughters: Jessica and husband Jim and Marisa, and step-great-grandchildren: Aiden, Jordan and Jade; and his sisters in Poland: Stefania, Helena and Rozalia. In addition to his parents, Jan was predeceased by his brother, Henry.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church.
