Keith G. Bova, 67, of New Britain, husband of Ann (Marinelli) Bova, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at home. Born and raised in Long Branch, N.J., he lived in Memphis, Tenn., for 11 years, moving to New Britain in 1980. A graduate of Long Branch High School, he received his bachelor’s degree from Christian Brothers College in Memphis. Keith worked in management, sales, and other positions with FedEx from 1977 to 2004, and later for Rexel Corp. in Hartford for 13 years, retiring in June 2017. He enjoyed his years as a literacy volunteer, among other community activities. He was a member of the Friday afternoon golf league at Stanley Golf Course in New Britain; Saturnites at Shuttle Meadow Country Club, and was a former baseball and youth soccer coach. Keith loved playing tennis and golf and had a lifelong love of the New York Yankees.
Keith was a loving husband and was devoted to his family. Besides Ann, his wife of over 40 years, he leaves a son, Keith Bova II, his wife, Victoria and their children, Sophia, Audrey and Luke; a sister-in-law, Constance Mazzarella and her husband, Vinnie, a brother-in-law, Michael Marinelli and his wife, Victoria, and a brother, Kevin Bova and his wife, Eileen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Keith’s family will receive friends and relatives Saturday, August 11, 2018, from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the Universalist Church of West Hartford, 433 Fern St., West Hartford, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. in the church.
A repast will be held after the memorial service at the Back #9 Tavern at the Stanley Golf Course, 245 Hartford Road, New Britain, CT 06053. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Keith and Ann Bova Family Fund at the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain (for the primary benefit of local children and families), 74A Vine St., New Britain, CT 06052.
