Barbara Norkunas (nee Hoffman), 88, died peacefully on July 26, 2018, in Titusville, Fla., (formerly of New Britain, Conn.). She was born on January 20, 1930, in Jersey City, N,J., to Eva Florence Hoffman and Otto J. Hoffman. During her younger years, she resided and grew up in Washingtonville, N.Y. She was a graduate of the Washingtonville High School, N.Y., class of 1947. She was married to Alfred Morrissey of New Britain, Conn., (formerly of Newburgh, N.Y.). She was later married to Stanley Norkunas of Florida. Barbara was a longtime resident of New Britain, Conn. She worked most of her life as a legal secretary in the field of insurance and law. She worked for the Stanley Works Corporation in New Britain, Conn., where she retired in 1992 as executive secretary to the president of Stanley Works. She loved the arts and theater, reading and was an avid gardener. Barbara was predeceased by her son, Shawn Morrissey in 1991. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Susan Morrissey (Jafar-Siahkouhi) in 2016. She is survived by her loving brother, Otto Joseph Hoffman, and sister-in-law, Linda Hoffman of Titusville, Fla. She is also survived by three loving grandchildren, Sara Mc Curda of Connecticut, Savannah Versace of Massachusetts and Samantha Sloane of Pennsylvania, and seven great-grandchildren, Alaysha, Donovan, Brianna, Cameron, Aiden, Avery, and Aberum. She is survived by two nieces, Patty Kirlauski of North Carolina, and Nicole Morelli of Florida, one nephew, John Hoffman of New York, and one step-niece April Ross of Florida. Barbara is also survived by several cousins in the U.S. and UK, and her dear cousin, Virginia Stevens of New Jersey. Arrangements will be held by New Comer Funeral Home in Titusville, Fla., and a viewing and memorial service will be held on July 27, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m.
