HARTFORD - Time is running out for new and unaffiliated voters in Connecticut to register with a political party, which would allow them to vote in the upcoming primaries.
But the deadline for registered voters to change parties in order to vote on Aug. 14 has already passed.
New and unaffiliated voters can register in person with their local registrar of voters or town clerk until noon Aug. 13.
They also can register online at www.myvote.ct.gov/register by 11:59 p.m. Thursday or in person at a Department of Motor Vehicles branch by the close of business Thursday.
There is no same-day election day registration for primary elections in Connecticut, only for general elections.
Voters can look up their registration status at www.myvote.ct.gov/lookup .
Candidates ranging from governor to Congress are on the ballot.
