Jerzy Cyganik, 59, of Plainville, loving husband of Leokadia (Kucharska), passed away on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018. Born in Poland to Piotr Cyganik and Agata (Bindas), he has lived in Plainville for 27 years. Jerzy worked as a commercial fisherman for many years and was a devoted member of Holy Cross Church in New Britain.

In addition to his beloved wife Leokadia, Jerzy leaves his son, Daniel and his wife Ewa of Newington; and his three grandchildren, Adam, Eric and Victoria, who he loved and cherished.

Jerzy’s funeral will begin on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 9:00 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St. in New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in New Britain. He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
