Christopher Dilzer, 57, of New Britain, Conn., passed away on Sept. 18, 2018, at Hartford Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Hartford, Conn., on May 28, 1961, the son of Eugene and Helen (Casey) Dilzer, Christopher was a product of New Britain schools before moving to Pennsylvania. In 2004, he earned a degree in nursing from Westmoreland County Community College. He worked as an RN at various facilities until returning to Connecticut and working as an RN with the Department of Veterans Affairs. He was a member of the Connecticut and Pennsylvania National Guard serving more than ten years.
He is survived by his son Christopher Dilzer of Boca Raton Fla., three daughters, Arianne Dilzer of Boca Raton, Malinda Dilzer of Seattle, Wash., and Casey Dilzer of New Britain. He is also survived by his parents Eugene and Helen (Casey) Dilzer of New Britain, sister, Rachel Marcelino of New Britain, and his brother, Daniel Dilzer and his wife, Hibeh of Kensington, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Leslie Marcinak of Ponce Inlett, Fla.
The family would like to thank the many wonderful caregivers at the Hospital for Special Care for their compassion. A mass of Christian burial will be held privately at the family’s request.
