Jane (Trojanowski) Bartosiewicz

Jane (Trojanowski) Bartosiewicz, 95, of New Britain, died peacefully on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018. She was born in Worcester, Mass., daughter of the late Stephan and Aniela (Wilkiewicz) Trojanowski. Jane grew up in New Britain and retired from Stanley Works after 34 years of employment. Jane was a wonderful friend. She had a sunny disposition, a generous heart, and a stable of jokes and relished a good game of pinochle. In her younger years, Jane was an avid bowler and stamp collector. She doted on her poodle, Skippy.

Jane is survived by her sister-in-law, Phyllis Bartosewicz, several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many dear friends. She was predeceased by Alexander Bartosiewicz, her beloved husband of 62 years; her brothers, Michael, Charlie, Stanley, and Florian (Joe) Trojanowski, and her sister, Lucy Nevilas.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, from 10 -11 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church St., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Jane’s generosity and fondness for poodles led her to support the Connecticut Humane Society. Memorial donations in her name may be made to, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
