Richard John Ziel, 49, of Southington, Conn., left this world too soon Saturday, March 2, 2019, at home. Richard was born in New Britain, Conn., and was the son of the late Richard and Sandra (Sani) Ziel. Known to his family and friends as “Zippy” he always stepped up to the plate to help out, fix something or care for a sick family member. His off-colored humor, big cheesy grin, and dedication and love for his family will forever be remembered. One would think his partying had caught up with him but it was his big heart that failed him. There will be no viewing since his sister refuses to honor his request to have him standing in the corner of the room with a shot of Yukon and a Winston in his mouth so that he would appear natural.
Richard leaves behind his beloved sisters whom he tormented and teased for five decades, Bonnie Ziel Navarro and Dena Colter, and her husband and his best friend, Randy Colter. His beloved niece whom he loved unconditionally, Sandra Navarro and Julio Figueroa, their children, Julissa and Julio, Jr. - the loves of his life; his nephews and their families, Adam, Angela, and their daughter, Alicia Colter and John, and his son, Jacob Colter. Also left to mourn his loss is his aunts, Claudia Berarducci and Diane Brenner. Richard was predeceased by his dog, Brandon
