Jennie “Jean” (Myska) Sztaba, 98, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. She was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church, the Ladies’ Guild, and the Rosary Society. Jennie lived her entire life in New Britain and graduated from NBHS. She retired from Fafnir Bear Company after many years of service. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her children, Janet Oblon, Gloria Grady, and Michael Sztaba and his wife, Karen; her six grandchildren, Lorrie Tine and husband, Anthony, Michael Grady and wife, Lorry, James Oblon, Carrie Ricciardelli, and husband, Paul, Kristen Pildis and husband, Jeffrey, Nicole Hall, and husband, Chris; her eleven great-grandchildren, Mia, A.J. and Mario Tine, Aidan, and Amaryllis Grady, Mason, and Liam Ricciardelli and Avery, Julia, Caydence, and Hailey Pildis; and her sisters-in-law, Jean, and Helen Myska. She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace; her son, Thomas; her son-in-law, Robert Grady, and eight brothers.

Jennie loved baking and cake decorating, including many wedding cakes. She loved Polish music and Polka dancing to the music of her husband’s and son’s bands. To our Mom, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, “May you forever dance with the angels.”

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 17, from 5-7 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. A brief visitation at the funeral home will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Monday, March 18, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church.
