Eldora Romireo, a long-time resident of Berlin, Conn., passed away at Apple Rehab, Cromwell, Conn., on March 5, 2019. Eldora was 98 years old. She was born Aldona to Tomas and Rose Zdanciukas, Lithuanian immigrants, in New Britain, Conn., on July 10, 1920. Aldona, whose maiden name was changed to Jennings, worked for many years at Landers, Frary, and Clark in New Britain.
In the 1940s, she married Anthony (Tony) Romireo of New Britain. Eldora and Tony and son, Tom was deeply rooted in the Catholic Church and were regular parishioners of St. Andrews, New Britain. Eldora and Tony were active members of the Lithuanian social clubs in New Britain. Eldora, Tony, and son, Tom moved to Berlin, Conn., in 1962. In later years, Eldora made several trips to Lithuania to visit cousins with whom she had maintained contact over the years. Eldora’s parents, husband, son and nine siblings predeceased her. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Eldora was buried in a private ceremony at St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain. The family would like to thank Apple Rehab, Cromwell, for the loving care Eldora received during the past five years.
