Eugenia (Bieganowska) Podgorski, 93, of Newington, passed away peacefully into heavenly rest on April 7, 2019, at 4:15 in the morning at Bel Air Manor in Newington. Eugenia was a beloved and devoted wife of the late Stanislaw Podgorski, whom she shared 60 beautiful years with. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her including her cherished children, Franciszka Pisarski and husband, Wieslaw, Jadwiga Bogacki, and Andrzej Podgorski and wife, Bogusia; her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, whom she treasured as her pride and joy. She also leaves behind her sisters, Bronislawa Labinowicz of Canada, and Wanda Jakimczyk of Poland; as well as family from New York, Florida, Canada, and the Netherlands, and beloved friends from all over. She was predeceased by her brother, Adam Czarnecki.

Eugenia was a proud and devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Church of New Britain. She has touched the lives and hearts of everyone she met, old and new. Her smile and warm heart will be missed but will never be forgotten. A special thanks to Bel Air Manor and all staff who helped her in her final month. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. Her funeral service will begin on Thursday, April 11, at 8:45 a.m. at Burritt Hill, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, New Britain.
