Mildred Elizabeth Mitchner Willis

Mildred Elizabeth Mitchner Willis, 86, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2019, with her loving family by her side. She was the widower of Jesse Samuel Willis. Mildred was born on Dec. 3, 1932, to the late Charles Mitchner and Rebecca Butler Mitchner. Mildred was employed at Stanley Works for many years and retired from there. A light-hearted woman with such a loving and gentle soul who enjoyed gardening, fishing, and knitting. Mildred leaves behind four children; two daughters, Felicia Willis of New Britain, and Jessica Willis of New Britain, two sons, Robert Willis of Georgia, and Derwin Willis of New Britain, seven grandchildren, Darryl Jackson, Ferris Jackson, Damien Willis, Tasha Kalumba, Shana Sneed Willis, Nicole Willis, and Devon Willis, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren, her sister, Delores Martin of Waterbury, two brothers, Charles Mitchner of New Britain, and Donald Mitchner of East Hartford, and she was predeceased by her brothers, Robert Mitchner, Carlton Mitchner, and Stewart Davis.

A time of visitation will be held Thursday, June 13, 2019, from 10-11 a.m. followed by her Funeral Service from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at Bethesda Apostolic Church, 249 Stanley St., New Britain, CT 06051. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mildred’s memory may also be made to Bethesda Apostolic Church.
