Mary K. Cludinski

Mary K. Cludinski, 96, of New Britain, died on Saturday, February 1, 2020. Born in New Britain to the late Bartholomew and Sophie (Krawiec) Krakowiak, she attended local schools and graduated from Teachers College (CCSU) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She was a teacher of Business Education for 42 years, beginning her career at New Britain High School, then retiring from Middletown High School. She was a fan of the UConn Women’s Basketball Team as well as the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed watching games. Mary also loved to garden and was an excellent baker and was known for her strawberry rhubarb pies. She kept her mind young with games of Scrabble and doing the daily Word Jumbles in the newspaper. Mary’s love and giving nature will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter Maryann DiBenedettto and husband, Peter; her son, Robert Cludinski; her adored grandchildren whom she doted on: Jennifer, Catie and husband Brandon, Robert Sam, Michelle and husband Mike and Amanda; her cherished great-grandchildren: Quinn, Cecilia, Jacob and Rayden. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by Henry L. Cludinski, her beloved husband of 44 years, and her sister, Reggie Fialkowski.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 5, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, New Britain. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. The family would to extend a special thanks to the staff of Msgr. Bojnowski Manor for their excellent care given to Mary during her stay there.
