Catherine S. Joseph

Catherine S. Joseph, 87, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at Apple Rehab in Plainville. A native and former New Britain resident, daughter of the late Joel and Sara (Sarkissian) Joseph, she lived in Berlin since 2014. Catherine was a graduate of New Britain High School, class of 1951, and was employed for the State of Conn. Department of Public Safety at the UConn Health Center for over twenty years. She formerly worked in the medical offices of Dr. Bernstein and Dr. Gold. Catherine was a member of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Church in New Britain.

Surviving is her brother, Gerald Joseph and his wife Evelyn of Plainville; a sister-in-law, Donna Joseph of New Britain; two nieces, Cynthia Riccio and her husband Anthony Jr. of Wethersfield, and Julianne Joseph of New Britain; two nephews, Christopher Joseph of West Hartford and Eugene Joseph Jr. of Middletown; and two grandnephews, Anthony Riccio III and Nicholas Riccio. She also leaves her special cousins; Shamiram George of Farmington and Fred Pera and his wife Mary of Berlin. She was predeceased by two brothers, Eugene Joseph Sr. and John Joseph.

To honor Catherine’s request, the funeral and burial were private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Holy Apostolic Catholic Church, 120 Cabot Street, New Britain, CT 06053. Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain, was in charge of arrangements.
