Edward S. Plonski passed away on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at the age of 90. Born in Thompson, Pa. on Aug. 26, 1930, he attended school in South Gibson, Pa. and graduated from Harford High School in 1948. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the US Marines, followed by the General Motors Institute in Michigan. He honed his craft as a Tool and Die Maker at New Departure, leading Ed and his wife Flo to found the manufacturing companies PPJ Products and later Four Star Manufacturing in 1964 where they worked together for over 50 years. Four Star Mfg., a provider for the medical, automotive and electronic industries, holds patents in dispensary devices and piston coolers for high compression engines. Ed will be cherished in the memories of his loving wife of 67 years, Florence, along with two sons, Mike and Gary and a daughter, Donna Allen, a daughter-in-law Kim, two granddaughters Erin Pollard and her husband Ben, Jennifer Plonski and a great grandson Arnold Edward Plonski, along with many nieces, nephews and his extended Four Star family. Ed held a lifelong passion for nature and family. An ardent fisherman, he was often casting a reel, or tending to his pond full of prized trout and bass. Along with Flo, Ed cultivated lush vegetable and flower gardens in their backyard oasis, lovingly named “Plonski Park”, which hosted dozens of family parties and celebrations over the years.
