Emil P. Olis

Emil P. Olis, Sr., passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021, at home. Emil was born in Bristol Dec. 16, 1927, and was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Pietras) Olis. He moved to New Britain at a young age with his family. Emil enjoyed playing baseball and gymnastics. He served his country honorably in the US Army during WWll going to Japan. Emil worked as a tool designer for Pratt & Whitney and then for Stanley Works until retirement. He met the love of his life, Eugenia, while working out on the parallel bars. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

With God’s grace they had thirteen children, thirty-one grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Emil’s legacy is his love of God and commitment to family. Emil was predeceased by his brother Henry Olis and his eldest son Emil Olis, Jr. The family would like to thank his care-giver Diana, for her loving and compassionate care.

A Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church, Farmington Ave., New Britain, on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at 10 a.m. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private. The Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, has charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Monsignor Bojonowski Manor, 50 Pulaski St., New Britain.
