Raymond A. Ruta

Raymond A. Ruta, 90, of Kensington, husband of Cynthia (Johnson) Ruta, passed away Wednesday (Sept. 15, 2021) at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in New Britain, graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1950, Ray attended and graduated from UConn in 1954 and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He has been a Kensington resident since 1971. He was employed as a Stock Broker at Advest and several other investment firms for 46 years, retiring in 2003. Ray was a member of St. Paul Church in Kensington; was a member and former Board Member of the New Britain YMCA and Salvation Army; was Past President of the New Britain Kiwanis Club; was former member of the Berlin Board of Finance and Assessment; and the Republican Town Committee.

Besides his wife Cynthia, Ray leaves two sons, Donald Ruta of Plainville; and Robert Ruta and his wife Jennifer of Durham, N.C.; two daughters, Mary Fiske and her husband Craig of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; and Robin Rubin and her husband Jeffrey of Essex, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Ray was predeceased by a sister, Sophie Ruta and a brother, Edward Ruta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday (Sept 22, 2021) 11:30 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Paul Church, Alling Street, Kensington. Burial with military honors will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours will be held Tuesday (Sept 21, 2021) 4 to 6 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain which is assisting with arrangements.
