Mary Ann (Costello) Goodell

Mary Ann (Costello) Goodell, 93, passed away peacefully on Sept. 9, 2021 in Pacific, Missouri. She was born on Aug. 10, 1928, in Meriden. She was the daughter of (the late) Leo F. Costello and Julia (Zaremba) Costello, and she was the sister of (the late) William E. “Bill” Costello.

Mary Ann graduated from New Britain High School in 1945. She served as a meteorologist in the U.S. Navy from 1949 to 1952. She served on the Board of Directors of the Waves National veterans organization, and she enjoyed worldwide travel throughout her life. Mary Ann was employed at The Institute of Living in Hartford for many years, and, during that time, she served on the Board of Directors of the Hartford Jazz Society. She was an avid tennis player and golfer, and she also enjoyed Tai Chi classes. Mary Ann was a longtime resident of Berlin, and she was an active member of The Berlin Seniors, Red Hats, AARP, and Cabaret Theatre.

She will be forever missed by her daughter, Leigh (Goodell) Frazier and Kevin Fuller of Villa Ridge, Missouri, and also nephews Michael Costello, Jason Costello, and John Pelletier of Southington. A Celebration of Mary Ann's life will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bell Funeral Home, 709 W. Union St., Pacific, Missouri.
