Kathleen S. Stoffers, 73, of New Britain, passed peacefully at home Nov. 11, 2021, Veterans Day. Kathleen was born in New Britain on Aug. 24, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Zygmund and Victoria Banasiewicz. She attended Holy Cross School and graduated from Pulaski High School. Kathleen belonged to Holy Cross Church. For 45 years, family members enjoyed great times at her parents’ beach house in Westbrook. Due to her charm, wit, and sense of humor, her nickname amongst the family became “Kook.” Kathleen’s career was as an administrative assistant at Roosevelt Middle School in New Britain for 25 years. It was here that she “kept everyone in line” earning herself another nickname, “Precious.” We are not ready to lose our Precious Kook, but she will not suffer any longer.
Kathleen is survived by one son, Jason Stoffers, three grandchildren, one great-grandson, her two sisters, Deborah Circosta of Newington, Bonita Gryckiewicz and her husband Jan of Farmington, her brother Andrew Banasiewicz and his wife Jacqueline Banasiewicz of Burlington, and several nieces and nephews.
There are plans to plant a tree in her honor at Roosevelt Campus this spring. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. Burial will be private.
