James E. Kane III, 80, passed away in his home in Avon on Jan. 9, 2022 with his sister Sandra Kane and devoted caregiver Rexford Kwarteng by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jim was born on May 18, 1941 in New Britain to James E. Kane Jr. and Esther (Zoccoli) Kane. Jim was a retired butcher for Shop Rite for many years, receiving numerous awards for his dedication & professional skill.
Jim was preceded by death by his father and mother, and stepmother, Katherine L. Kane.
Family members to carry on Jim’s spirit, love and honor his life are sister, Sandra Kane, three sons, Steve and Masako Kane, Todd & Barbara Kane, and Mark Kane, and three grandchildren, Soichi, Kouta, Alexa Kane, and former wife, Janice (Fanciullo) Kane, and Kane and Zoccoli cousins.
Sincere appreciation is extended to Denise, Dawn, and Mike of Masonicare for their dedication to providing the utmost care to Jim.
Most importantly, the family extends its sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Rexford for his devoted care for Jim for more than two years, and the unique bond and friendship that formed between them.
