A Life Remembered Dana L Vieira, 62, of Newington, born Jan. 26, 1959, passed away in his sleep at home in Newington Friday, Jan. 14, 2022. Dana was born in New Britain and was the son of Catherine (Smith) Vieira and the late Albert A. Vieira. He was a talented athlete who won many awards in football, basketball, and baseball. Dana also has a long work history as a manager at many different companies, due to all of the amazing qualities he had to offer. He was a member of New Britain's Sports Hall of Fame where he served as a board member, and was a Steward at Spottswood AME Zion Church in New Britain. Dana is loved by many; his friendly, giving, and kind personality has been a driving force in our family for many years. We thank him for being not only a loving and doting son, but a loving, doting, and caring father figure for not only his children, but also to children he knew needed him in their lives. Dana served as a peacemaker, not only to his family but to his friends as well.

Dana leaves behind his mother Catherine (Smith) Vieira, his wife of twenty-two years, Shauniqua (Passe) Vieira, his two daughters Autumn L. Vieira and Shayna L. Stetford, his son-in-law Joshua C. Parmlee, his granddaughter Asha M. Parmlee, his sister Deborah Vieira of Newington, his brother Albert Vieira Jr, his sister-in-law Kelley Vieira, his niece Amber Shumate and her husband Tyrus Williams. The family would like to express gratitude for everyone's kindness in our time of loss. We will be holding a small and private service due to restrictions, and thank you all for sharing Dana's life with us. He will be missed beyond measure.
