If the measure of one’s life is the ability to make and maintain relationships, no one stood taller than Brenda Kidd. The eldest child born to George and Vicki Kanupka, Kensington, to the day she died her best friends remained her childhood playmates.

Her 50 year career as a registered nurse (the final 35yrs in Cardiac PICU, Children’s Seattle) and her 48 years as the wife of Lutheran Pastor Tom left her with an unrivaled Christmas card list, always arriving late. Tom and Brenda’s life took them from San Francisco to the prairies of Alberta, the remote coast of British Columbia, Bellevue, WA, and finally to Whidbey Island, WA.

Three children were born to them, Jason (Christina), Jhennifer (Jim, GDs Abbie and Vivian), Jocelyn (Robert). Brenda leaves behind brother George, sister-in-law Helen, nieces Laura, Becky, nephew George, sister Janet, brother-in-law Rich, niece Sara and nephew Keith. Along with an extraordinary extended family of relatives and friends for whom Brenda never forgot to send a card, probably late.
