Painting, movies upcoming at Plainville library

PLAINVILLE - Plainville Public Library has scheduled several programs for adults beginning Thursday.

The following programs are free to participate in and will be held at the library at 56 E. Main St. unless otherwise noted

On May 4 and June 8, guests are invited to drop in at 6:30 p.m. and enjoy a relaxing evening of adult coloring in the Peter F. Chase Auditorium of the library.

Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Plainville Public Library. Colored pencils, markers and coloring pages will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own coloring supplies if desired.

The Plainville Public Library’s Monthly Movie for April, “Manchester by the Sea,” will be shown April 29 at 1:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

The Oscar winning film tells the story of an uncle who returns home and becomes the guardian of his nephew after his brother dies.

The movie stars Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams and is produced by Matt Damon. The film is rated R for language and sexual content and runs 2 hours and 17 minutes.

The library’s monthly movie for May, LION, will be shown May 11 at 1 p.m. and May 20 at 1:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

The Oscar nominated film, based on the non-fiction book “A Long Way Home” by Saroo Brierley, tells the story of 5-year-old Saroo who gets lost on a train that takes him thousands of miles across India, away from home and family. Twenty-five years later he begins the search for his lost family.

The film is rated PG-13 and runs for 1 hour and 58 minutes.
