PLAINVILLE - A motor vehicle accident caused delays Wednesday morning on Route 72.

The crash was reported at about 10:05 a.m. on the eastbound side of Route 72, a little over a mile before Interstate 84 and Crooked Street.

There, one car sustained front end damage after apparently striking a guardrail on the right side of the roadway. There was no word on injuries, but an ambulance did respond to the scene.

The vehicle involved had to be towed from the scene. Its airbags were deployed during the wreck.

The scene of the crash was cleared by about 10:46 a.m., according to the DOT.
