SOUTHINGTON - The Southington Chamber of Commerce appointed a new executive board and board of directors Thursday at their annual meeting.

During the meeting, Liz Hyatt, executive director of the Southington Chamber of Commerce, bid farewell to Dave Pestillo, retiring chairman of the executive board.

“He is truly a tireless worker on behalf of the chamber and the community as a whole,” she said.

“Since Liz came on-board, our chamber has invested in a new website, we’ve moved to a new office, we’ve drafted new bylaws and we’ve set a new pricing model,” said Pestillo. “Thank you for the opportunity to serve on this awesome committee.”

Hyatt then welcomed Kate Sirignano, of Image Marketing Consultants, Pestillo’s successor. Sirignano thanked the chamber for the honor and for being supportive of her when she launched her own business 10 years ago.

“We support one another,” she said. “As business owners it is not always easy to face all of these challenges, such as the economic climate of Connecticut, but we are stronger facing them together. We are committed to growing this chamber and to finding new ways to work with our legislators and employers. We are one of the strongest and most vibrant chambers in the state.”
