SOUTHINGTON - Police have charged two people after breaking up an underage drinking party at a local hotel.

Lateef Bilewu, 22, of Waterbury, and Melissa Dessources, 21, Brockton, Mass., were each issued infractions for procuring liquor for a minor on June 17 after police were called to the Residence Inn, at 778 West St., on a loud noise complaint at about 1:24 a.m.

Police said they found Bilewu and Dessources with five persons who weren’t of legal drinking age. Officers said they found indications that the party involved beer pong - a popular drinking game.
