SOUTHINGTON – Registration is now open for the road races at the 38th annual Apple Harvest Festival.
On Oct. 1, a 5-mile race along a scenic course will be held starting at 8:30 a.m. A two mile walk along Linear Park, which will finish on the town green, will also start at 8:30 a.m. The 5K race begins at 8:45 a.m. The Little Fritter Fun Runs, an assortment of kids’ races around the town green, will start around 10 a.m.
Plenty of refreshments will be served during these races, and there will also be music along the course. The first 1,200 registered will receive a Performance T-shirt.
Race day registration will be held Oct. 1 from 7 to 8 a.m. at the YMCA at 29 High St.
Registration on race day is $29 for the 5-mile run and 5K race or $15 for the 2 mile walk or Little Fritter Fun Runs.
Registration prior to race day is $25 for the 5 mile run and 5K race or $20 for active or retired military personnel. Pre-registration for the 2 mile walk and Little Fritter Fun Run is $10.
Pre-race packets can be picked up Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sept. 30 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
