SOUTHINGTON -The Southington Historical Society recently appointed its officers for the coming year, with Lisa Jansson named to another term as president.
Officers’ terms have been increased from one year to two.
Other officers are Vice President Phil Wooding (also town historian, as appointed by the Town Council), Secretary Kathy Stalter and Treasurer- Walter Grover.
The following committee chairmen and chairwomen were also recently appointed:
House Committee: Phil Wooding.
Program Committee: Pat Johnson
Schoolhouse Committee: Kathy Conway and Amy McPartland.
Marketing Committee: Art Secondo.
Fundraising Committee: Carl Hotkowski.
IT Committee: Kathy Stalter.
The Southington Historical Society always welcomes new members and volunteers to serve on its committees.
The society has also adopted a new membership and benefactor structure.
“Friends of the Southington Historical Society” pay $20 annually, or $15 for students over 16 or seniors 55 or older.
Family membership for adults and children under 16 living in the same household is $45 annually.
The following are the Southington Historical Society’s benefactor levels, each of which has its own perks.
Sally Lewis Benefactor level: $100 to $249.
Marcus Holcomb Benefactor level: $250 to $499.
Plant Brothers Benefactor level: $500 to $999.
Samuel Woodruff Founders Circle: $1,000-plus.
Founders Circle members will be invited to a special reception and their names will be engraved on a plaque to be displayed in the museum. They also will receive other membership perks.
“We are very excited about the new benefactor levels and welcome corporate benefactors as well,” said Lisa Jansson.
The Southington Historical Society, at 239 Main St., is open every Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
