Motorist crashes car into Southington bar

SOUTHINGTON - Police are investigating after a Bristol man allegedly crashed into a local bar on Sunday.

According to police, Bristol resident Nathan Cannon, 22, was driving on West Main Street in a Volkswagen Jetta around 2:30 a.m. when the car left the road and hit the east side of the Hop Haus restaurant and bar.

No injuries were reported.

Police said the accident damaged both the vehicle and the building, at 22 West Main St.

No charges had been filed as of Monday, as police said they were still investigating the incident.

An employee of Hop Haus on Monday said it would be closed Monday for repairs, It tentatively plans to reopen today, the employee said.
