SOUTHINGTON - The Southington Chamber of Commerce is asking members to show their pride during “Membership Month,” offering perks for promoting the chamber in October.

“We figured that it would be a good time to showcase our chamber pride with the Apple Harvest Festival bringing many outsiders into town,” said Executive Director Elizabeth Hyatt. “This is the first wave of our promotional efforts, which will be concentrated in October.”

Chamber members who refer a new business that signs up in October will receive a $75 e-blast to help promote their business or one of their upcoming events. They will also be entered for a chance to win a free one-year classic level membership, or $325 off a premier or executive membership, at the time of renewal.

Nonmembers who join the chamber in October will also receive the $75 e-blast.

The chamber is also asking chamber members to offer other members discounts during October and encourages those interested in doing so to email their logos to lisa@southingtonchamber.com to be featured in e-blasts as participating members.

The chamber also is offering a limited number of “Proud Member of the Southington Chamber of Commerce” lawn signs and window decals.

People are also encouraged to add an electronic chamber logo to their business websites. “Proud Member” merchandise is free for members and can be picked up at the chamber at 31 Liberty St., Suite 210.

“When people take pride in something it shows great unity,” said Hyatt. “There are many benefits to joining the chamber and this is our way to get those who already experience these benefits and speak highly of us to reach out to others.”

For more information, call Hyatt at 860-628-8036 or email her at ehyatt@southingtonchamber.com. To reserve “Proud Member” merchandise, either call the Chamber or email taylor@southingtonchamber.com.
