SOUTHINGTON – A local man was charged with attempted burglary Thursday after a neighbor reported seeing him trying to break into a shed on Mill Street, police said.
Gred Bolduc, 34, of Southington, realized that a neighbor could see him trying to pry the door of the shed open and was calling police, so he fled on a bicycle, police said.
He was found on Queen Street and taken into custody. He had burglary tools, including a hammer when he was caught, Lt. Stephen Elliot said.
Bolduc was charged with attempted third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace. He was released on $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court Oct. 30.
