SOUTHINGTON - The Southington Public Library has announced two free upcoming programs for teens.
The library will host “After School Teen Movie Time” Nov. 29 at 3:30 p.m.
Teens in grades 7 to 12 (ages 13 through 18) are invited to come see the monthly teen movie, “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.”
This is a drop-in program; no registration is required. The film, which stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac, is directed by J.J. Abrams. The runtime is approximately 2 hours and 16 minutes. The film is Rated PG-13. Snacks will be provided.
The library will also host Teen Crafternoon Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. as part of its “One to Give, One to Keep” earring making program.
Heather Torre of Verdilune will lead this program at which teens will be able to make two sets of dangling, beaded brass earrings.
They can keep one and give one away for a handmade Christmas present to someone special.
Torre has been creating jewelry for more than 25 years. She works with raw, organic materials, such as sterling silver, copper, and brass, as well as unique gemstones and cabochons to create one-of-a-kind pieces of beautiful heirloom jewelry.
Registration is required, and seating is limited. To register, visit southingtonlibrary.org, and click on Calendar or contact the Reference/Information desk at 860-628-0947 x 5.
