SOUTHINGTON - The Nutmeg Flute Quartet and Southington Chamber Singers will perform Dec. 18 at the Southington Public Library.
The concert will be held at 7 p.m. at the library at 255 Main St.
The Southington Chamber Singers have been making music together for over 20 years. Members of the group come from Bristol, Meriden, Wolcott, Woodbury, Wallingford and Southington. They will be sharing some of their favorite Christmas songs including White Christmas, The Carol of the Bells and Let it Snow, as well as a selection of new songs. Singers in the group are David Andrews, Cindy Cayer, Sandy and Susan Koenig, Leana Gleicher, Terry Gustavson, Gwynn Hopko, Krista Rescsanski, Tony Senatore and Susan and John Smayda.
The Nutmeg Flute Quartet was established in 2015. Members of the quartet are Marlene and Ray Taranto from Framingham, Mass., Sirkka Johnson from Manchester and John Smayda from Southington. All of the members of the ensemble were music majors in college and several hold advanced music degrees. The group performs a variety of classical, popular, jazz and blues. The performers are also multi-instrumentalists, allowing for a variety of instrumentation.
