Utility pole damaged in Southington car crash

SOUTHINGTON - Traffic was backed up temporarily on Main Street Wednesday afternoon when a vehicle crashed into a utility pole.

The accident was reported shortly before 12:30 p.m., when police, firefighters and an ambulance responded to Main Street, near Eden Avenue. There, the pole snapped about three feet up from the ground because of the collision.

It was not immediately clear if any injuries were reported.

Eversource crews responded to make repairs to the pole.
