SOUTHINGTON -Town Councilors and the Southington Chamber of Commerce gathered at Mulberry Gardens Thursday night to celebrate their recent remodeling.
Kate Mauriello, executive director of Mulberry Gardens, explained that the renovations had been a three-month long project. It included new lighting, wallpaper, rugs and floors as well as relocating the front desk.
Mauriello said that Mulberry Gardens has long supported the local chamber of commerce, and now that the renovations are complete, they are looking forward to holding more chamber functions there.
“It looks beautiful,” said Taylor Crofton, executive director of the Southington Chamber of Commerce. “I personally want to have a fireplace like that in my living room. This is a great facility that provides an excellent level of care and nice amenities. It is nice to have something like this in Southington. They have been longtime members of our chamber and have sponsored our Ladies’ Night. The Orchards, which they are affiliated with, also sponsors and hosts our chamber in the Morning events, which highlight our members.”
The celebration of the completed renovations was attended by three Town Council members, Victoria Triano, Dawn Miceli and John Barry.
Triano congratulated Mauriello on the completed renovations.
“I stopped in while the renovations were underway but to see them completed - it is stunning,” she said. “There’s a saying that goes something like ‘they don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.’ Everyone knows how much Mulberry Gardens cares about this community.”
Mulberry Gardens of Southington is affiliated with Hartford HealthCare. Residents receive priority treatment at the Southington Care Center.
