SOUTHINGTON – Those with disabilities can learn important information on services available during the Ann Dandrow Memorial Educational Event this evening at Hawk’s Landing Country Club.

Sponsored by the town of Southington Commission on Disabilities, the free event will feature dozens of vendors and organizations showcasing their products and services from 6 to 9 p.m.

Ann Dandrow, who represented Southington and Berlin in the Connecticut General Assembly for 16 years, was known for her legislative work with children, the elderly and those with disabilities. She passed away in January 2017. She will be honored at the start of the event.

“The Ann Dandrow Memorial Educational Event spotlights topics that are relevant to individuals with disabilities and their caregivers,” said Commission Chair Karen Leary. “This year’s event is unique in that multiple organizations and vendors will be on hand for residents to consult with and ask questions.”

More than 20 advocacy agencies, organizations and vendors will be at the event including Advanced Wheels, the Americans with Disabilities Act Coalition of Connecticut, Bread For Life, Southington Community Services, Harvest Medical Supply and the Connecticut Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.

Hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and dessert will be served. Raffles and door prizes will be provided by several of the vendors.
